The remastering of Diablo is being developed by Blizzard Entertainment and developer Vicarious Visions. Vicarious Visions previously worked on Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy remaster and Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy Remaster as well as D2R Ladder Items the 2020 release of Tony Hawk: Pro Skater 1+2. Vicarious Visions has quite the pedigree when it comes to the updating of classic games. In addition to being in charge of the remaster, Vicarious Visions is also involved in the release of Diablo to consoles, which marks the game's first appearance without PC.
"Diablo has never been available on consoles, therefore there were plenty of fascinating perspectives from our perspective regarding how to tackle things," [speaker name] told us. "When we approached how to develop a console port it was a common problem that you didn't have an actual mouse, so how do you tackle character movements as well as use different capabilities and targets?
Therefore, Vicarious Visions has a lot of knowledge about consoles, which was a huge help with addressing a lot of the technical issues. We combined our experience and methods of synchronizing with the work we've worked on to date on Diablo and the expertise Vicarious Visions knows. So, that was always an awesome relationship with how we worked together in creating Diablo: Resurrection for consoles."
Will This Remaster Remake Replace The Original Game?
In our interview with Remaster's developers, I spoke about the various lessons that were gained from the creation of WarCraft III: Reforged. WarCraft III: Reforged, which came out to a mixed reaction from the players. Much of the frustration of fans over WarCraft III: Reforged came from Blizzard making the remaster take over the game's original platform Battle.net, making it the only option to play the final strategy game of the WarCraft series.
In our conversation with Blizzard, the studio stated that they plan to keep their original game version Diablo on Battle.net, which will be played alongside the new version. While Resurrected will keep the classic game's visuals as well as gameplay in D2R Ladder Items Buy its traditional mode, players still used to the original game can use the old version instead.
