World of Warcraft WoTLK Classic Gold players are asking for two NPCs named after the former WoW executive director Alex Afrasiabi to be removed from the game following explicit references to Afrasiabi's claimed pattern of harassing female employees during a lawsuit that was filed by California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing against Activision Blizzard.
Afrasiabi who walked out unannouncedly from Blizzard during the summer of 2019. is the sole individual named directly in the State of California's lawsuit related to sexual harassment allegations. The lawsuit states that he frequently assault female employees and try to kiss them and put the arms of his victims. One of the parts of the suit that is particularly telling is the claim that Afrasiabi's room was dubbed the "Crosby Suite" an apparent misspelling reference to the alleged murderer Bill Cosby, who in 2018 was sentenced to 10 years' jail for sexual assault , charges which were recently overturned from the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court.
The suit claims that Afrasiabi's pattern of harassment was known to Blizzard executives, but that none of the corrective measures were implemented due to his status as a senior executive, with Blizzard chief J. Allen Brack allegedly only giving Afrasiabi a metaphorical slap across the buy WOW WoTLK Classic Gold wrist for his conduct. Afrasiabi was hired by Blizzard at the end of 2004 to work as a quest designer on vanilla WoW. He would later serve as creative director for WoW's Warlords of Draenor and Legion expansions.
