The PS4 was first released in 2013, the PS4 has since be not just one of Sony's top-performing consoles but also one of the top-selling games platforms ever. However, Sony is now looking to sell the PS5 as its main equipment, which means the PS4 is bound to come to its end. With the new guidelines from Sony, we have an understanding of when PS4 may officially be going to the side.

As detailed in Sony's recent financial presentation, it was specified that games on PS4 will be gone by 2025. However, this doesn't mean that the old PS4 games will not be available to purchase, but Sony will definitely end the release of new games for the platform by the time this happens.

Instead, by 2025, Sony has predicted that by 2025, most of its revenues for games will come via PlayStation 5, with titles on PC and mobile also pulling the remaining half of its income.

The overall picture should not be a surprise given that the PS5 will be Sony's primary priority in the years to in the years to come.
