This will likely stop third-party websites from having the ability to market their products as RS Gold.

A quick Google search on either returns hundreds of websites, majority of them having one of the words in their URLs, and that provide currency in RuneScape with real money. This followed the news on October 13 that Jagex is putting an end to "real-world trade". On its website "The RuneScape Team" explained that "gold that is purchased via RWT real-world trading is a major issue in any online game with a traded currency."

Jagex announces that it will send "messages to players who we've identified as being involved with OSRS gold" within "the coming hours". "For anyone who was involved, we want to emphasize that this is your first and only warning," the company added.
