"As we've been building the game, we thought like we could evolve sets D2R Items in a unique way relative to what we've observed within Diablo 3. We needed additional time to incorporate them with a style that would integrate well with the rest of Diablo 4, so you won't see sets at launch on the map," Shely explains. "We think sets are very cool and want to make them look good - therefore, we're looking over for our Live service."

"There's a staff legendary in the demo which turns the spell's fireball spell into triple fireball spells," former director of the game Luis Barriga told Polygon(opens in new tab) earlier in 2019. "The thing that's different is that, you know, a spell that's in use right now in Diablo 3 gives you bonuses greater than a thousand. We're attempting to design the game to be a little tighter to keep us from getting us in that exponential power-curve."

If you're not familiar to the term "set", Set Items are basically strong devices that can offer more power when put together. They're "set" as they provide the exact bonus features, and as such they're part of an assortment. They first appeared by Diablo 2, though it was in Diablo 3 when they became more dominant. It is yet to be determined how they'll impact the Diablo 4 meta should they be released, but we have the impression that their impact on the unfurling style scene will be greatly felt.

This Diablo 4 beta hasn't convinced me, yet, however I can't wait to play even more (Set Items or not).
