Like a lot of Diablo four's other confusing quests, the answer sincerely comes in the shape of an emote. You want to use the "wait" emote next to the spring. To try this, press E (or up on the D-pad on controller) to Diablo 4 Gold  open the emote menu. If "wait" isn't always already there, you will want to click customise under and add it to one of the wheels earlier than urgent E again...
