Mi-Light lighting synchronisation can be a breeze once you understand the process. However, for those who are new to Mi-Light products, it can be a bit frustrating. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to make syncing your Mi-Light controllers and bulbs with a remote control a seamless experience.

Check Compatibility

Before diving into the syncing process, it's important to ensure that your remote control is compatible with the light bulb or LED strip controller you wish to sync. At Future House Store, we make it easier for you by providing a compatibility table for each Mi-Light product. You can refer to Table #1 included with the product to verify compatibility.

Linking FUT089 Remote with FUT105 Light Bulb

For this example, we will use the FUT089 remote control, which allows you to control lighting in 8 different zones. The remote features a color ring for adjusting colors, 2 sliders for brightness and saturation, 6 single buttons for master control, and 8 double buttons to control individual zones.

Mi-Light FUT089 handheld remote features

To begin, insert 2 AAA batteries into your FUT089 remote. Please note that batteries are not included with Mi-Light remotes. Once the batteries are in place, check if the LED inside the color ring lights up when you press any of the remote buttons.

Next, switch off the power using your main wall switch. Screw the FUT105 light bulb into the E27 socket. Switch on the main power and quickly press one of the "I" zone buttons on your remote 3 times within 3 seconds of turning on the main switch. If the synchronization is successful, the FUT105 light bulb will flash 3 times, indicating that it is now under remote control. If the synchronization fails, please repeat the process.

Linking Mi-Light Remote with Mi-Light LED Strip Controllers

The same synchronization process applies to LED strip controllers, with the additional consideration of properly connecting the controllers.

Ensure that your LED strip does not consume more than 10A (for FUT035, FUT036, FUT037, FUT038, FUT039) or 15A (for FUT043, FUT044, FUT045).

FUT039 screw terminals power input light output

For this example, we will use the FUT039 RGB+CCT LED strip controller. The FUT039 has 2 screw terminals and a DC Jack socket on one side for power input, and 7 screw terminals on the other side for the light output. The LED strip screw terminals are marked G (Green light), B (Blue light), R (Red light), V+ (power), CW (cold white light), WW (warm white light), and another V+ (power for using two LED tapes).

Connect the LED strip to the controller according to the markings. Once connected, follow the same steps as before to sync the remote with the LED strip. After connecting the LED strip to the controller, connect the power wires while ensuring the power is off. Once the power wires are connected, switch on the power. Within 3 seconds, press one of the "I" zone buttons on your FUT089 remote. The LED strip should flash a few times if the synchronization is successful. If not, switch off the power for 15 seconds, switch it back on, and repeat the process.
