On Thursday night there was a strange smell wafting around White Hart Lane, it could quite well have been that of teen spirit but Im certain it was more nervous perspiration.With his Tottenham team already having a commanding lead over a struggling Hearts side Harry Redknapp sent out a new look outfit filled with young blood. Tottenham had five relatively new faces in the starting line up and one on the subs bench. Twenty year olds Andros Townsend and Jake Livermore, nineteen year old Tom Carroll and eighteen year olds Harry Kane and Ryan Fredericks started the Jim McMahon Jersey game, whilst Jake Nicholson, 19 came on as a second half substitute. The experiences so far for the new boys in a footballing sense differs quite dramatically, Andros and Jake have both been out on loan around the football league and Harry Kane has had some playing time in pre season grabbing goals along the way.To any fan who turned up late on the night the team looked no different for the first ten minutes with pa ses going astray and the quality of first touches with it. Once the new boys settled in and started to play they clearly werent to the same standard as Darnell Mooney Jersey Sir Alexs wonder kids but there was something strangely refreshing about the game.Tottenham clearly looked different to the first leg and there were positives and negatives from the new boys on show, with Harry Kane nearly having his Danny Welbeck moment in front of goal only to be denied from the penalty spot. Livermore on the other hand who had started against Man United at Old Trafford out performed his midfield partner Tom Huddlestone. In doing so showed why he has a future ahead of him as he broke down attacks and actually looked like he wanted the ball at his feet which is rare for a central midfielder wearing white and blue. As they not known for bringing through the youngsters Spurs have struggled over recent years with having players with great potential but it sadly never being fulfilled. This maybe down to the fact that the core of their team isnt Josh Woods Jersey as strong as others or just because priorities are different when the cup competitions are concerned. As a result of this players like Adel Taarabt and Gio Dos Santos have not progre sed in the way that they should have at the Lane. Does anyone remember John Bostock? I was at Selhurst Park on a cold Monday night when he made his debut as a 15 year old wonder kid. Only for Spurs to snatch him away and lead him to the land of Francis Jeffers and many others with a promise that will potentially never be fulfilled. He is now nineteen and after two spells on loan the Spurs faithful wait with baited breath for him to make his first team debut, but with this season being so important to Harry Redknapp and the club the fans may have to wait another season at least. Luckily for Tottenham Jimmy Graham Jersey fans Gareth Bale nearly fell down this path by the virtue of going 24 games without a win but it just shows that you give a young player enough of a chance and occasionally they will reach their potential.So maybe this great night may be looked at with a touch of hope for the six boys Xavier Crawford Jersey who probably learnt as much about themselves as the fans learnt about them. I think a cautious approach should be taken for the next few years to make sure they dont fall by the wayside as they try to become men in this most perilous of profe sions. So whether they make a career at Tottenham or move on to pastures new Im sure a second leg of a Europa league qualifier on an August night in north London will always live long in their Hearts.
